the air bag have gone off"? Providing scientific answers to various
questions that arise relative to air bag deployment requires analysis
of crash Delta-V, Barrier Equivalent Speed, Principle Direction
of force, and analysis of on board automotive circuitry and software.
Occupant fit checks with similar sized human surrogates in exemplar
vehicle is often utilized. Crash
data recorders provide scientific graphing and tabulation of
the parameters sensed and relied upon by the vehicle’s electronics
in determining whether or not to deploy the air bag.
