Rollover Accident Reconstruction
Rollover
accidents are some of the most complex assignments we receive. In
such cases, we analyze parameters of stability rating, roll radius,
rollover propensity, and roof crush. Differentiation between diving
injuries, ejection injuries, and injuries sustained within the confines
of the occupant compartment envelope are usually key factors in
such reconstructions. Concepts of crashworthiness, forseeability,
roll direction, number of rolls, trip mechanisms, vehicle speed,
scratch analysis, roll rate, occupant kinematics, rim gouges, roadway
geometry, tire failure, and restraint system effectiveness are routinely
incorporated into various types of three dimensional modeling, computer
simulation, and computer animation. Occupant fit checking in the
accident vehicle, or an exemplar vehicle, with an exemplar human
surrogate is often utilized. A multi-disciplinary approach is often
utilized involving reconstruction, structural and metallurgical
analysis, biomechanical analysis, and vehicle warnings methodology.
